Erik,
I did have a good time running the K0S special event although I only made a few contacts on 40 meters and a few on 20 meters. People could not believe that I was using a metal storage building antenna. I ran coax to the corner of the building. My "ground" was a ladder laid on the ground. Believe it or not this 12' by 16' building was resonant on 7.1 with an SWR of 1.7:1. I also had about 2.0:1 at 13.9 just below the 20 meter band.
I designed and built the storage unit back in 2004. It is framed in wood and rests on concrete blocks. The sides and roof are all metal siding which provides a very strange antenna that does work.

We again see a pretty good SWR. This is an example of when it can get difficult to classify strange antennas. Is this a vertical? The feeding arrange is similar to a vertical. It is most certainly an unbalanced antenna, as is a vertical. Such fun! Thanks for playing radio with us again this year Jim!
