PDA-1 StillAmphora SocietyHome Page: http://www.amphora-society.com/ |
This is where I bought my first still. It is very well designed, and has a 2-inch diameter column. If that fits your needs and you don't have the time or inclination to build your own still, I highly recommend this one. I also recommend changing it from a Liquid Management design to a Vapor Management design. (Amphora Society offers a book entitled "The Compleat Distiller" which explains everything you need to know on this subject, and many others.) |

Fermenator -- Conicalhttp://www.beer-wine.com/product_info.asp?productID=1340§ionID=1Home Page: www.beer-wine.com |
WE HAVE NOT USED. These are always very expensive. The 27-gallon model (for 20-gallon batches) is nearly $900. 100% stainless steel. They mention two "claims to fame": "The Fermenator is the only weld-free interior fermenter on the market. Rotating Racking Arm is standard equipment!! Just like the Craft Brewers huge conical fermenters. This feature allows you to start your siphon with the racking arm horizontal, and rotate it slowly downward until you just start picking up yeast sediment. Clearly the best and only way to siphon clear beer or wine!" |
