Ethanol Fuel
PDA-1 Still

PDA1 Still

www.Amphora-Society.com

I bought my first still from the Amphora Society. It is a very well made still, suitable for lab-quality work. For those interested in distilling essential oils it may be used to produce these as well as high quality ethanol fuel.
The PDA-1 has a 2-inch diameter column, so it may or may not produce sufficient alcohol fuel to meet you needs. It is also a LIQUID Management (LM) still. This is important for laboratory quality control, but when producing alcohol fuel the simpler operation of a VAPOR Management (VM) is generally preferred. However, if one is willing to watch the still much more closely LM will work exceptionally well.
My advice is to modify the PDA-1 from a LM to a VM still. It is a simple modification, and their book "The Compleat Distiller" (sold on their web site) explains this in sufficient detail to design and construct your own. Or if you prefer you may contact me and have me build you one.
