Altoid's Mint box contains the SO-239 to binding post conversion.
It is also filled with silicon, to ensure it is water tight.
About 7 wraps of coax, roughly 10 feet in length,
provides a pretty good compromise of "choking" across all the HF bands
(see the "ARRL Antenna Book" for more details).
The idea is to eliminate energy from flowing down
the outside of the coax shielding.
If this occurs, your SWR meter will not be accurate.
It is designed to measure two electrical "legs", not three.
(see Maxwell, w2du, "Reflections II").
This "third leg" of energy will also complicate the tuning process.
Hose clamp tightly holding wire to fence rail. (Tricky stuff! ;-)
